The purpose of Families Helping Families is to encourage and inspire families. Through service to others, your family learns to work together building a greater sense of family, while being of service in your community. While you are benefiting your community, you are raising funds to help families in other countries build their family and community through the Adopt a Village program.

THE GIFT OF GIVING

As parents we are always concerned about what our children will be like when they grow up. Have we given them the best start that we can, the best opportunity to be all that they can be?

Being involved in service to others, learning to give without thought of receiving is a precious gift we can give to our children. And it has far reaching effects. Children that have been raised in families that model giving and involve children in service to others, are less likely to be involved with drugs, delinquency, and have a stronger sense of family. Families Helping Families is a start for you and your family to give in the true spirit of giving.

Families Helping Families and The Unstoppable Foundation

The Unstoppable Foundation’s vision is that every child on the planet has access to the life-long gift of education.

To support that vision, we work with organizations that provide children and their families in developing countries the resources and training necessary to eliminate the obstacles preventing children from accessing education and to break the cycle of poverty. This is done primarily through the Adopt a Village program.

Made up of four pillars crucial to lifting communities from poverty—education, alternative income, health care and water and sanitation—Adopt a Village is a holistic model that relies on local people to actively participate in creating sustainable communities.

How it Works

Each family is asked to make a commitment of least a 10 months to this program. Each month you make a donation of $25, $50 or $100 that you have earned as a family doing a charitable service in your community. These funds are donated through Cynthia Kersey's Unstoppable Foundation. (See link on the side bar)

Why 10 months?

Families Helping Families is committed to raising $200,000 to help 8 communities through the Adopt a Village program.

We have lined up 10 experts with great information for families. Over the next 10 months we will have an interview with an expert each month. Each expert will talk about how you can raise the quality of your family life.

We want your family to be creative in giving service to your community to raise the funds. Be community leaders and challenge other families to match what you are doing. Get together with other families and create an awareness campaign about the desperate need of families in developing countries.
